Queen and David Bowie
This was a great project. The plan was to do a re-working of Under Pressure for the millenium. The original tapes revealed some interesting things. Some of the vocal tracks had Bowie and Mercury singing each others parts the other way round from the record you are familiar with. It didn't work as well however, so we stuck to the original format. John Deacon was an inspiration to work with and the record company loved it. I believed we were in for a Millenium number one,(See Spinning Around) but in a last minute twist Brian May wanted his own euro-pop version released which peaked at number 14 and sadly this version, although released, didn't get the attention it deserved.
