The idea with this production was to take advantage of the slightly odd arrangement of the original Cathy Dennis / Eg White song. I used a rolling tom rhythm over intertwining monophonic synth lines to create an electronic verse and pre-chorus. The pre-chorus is really the chorus so when the chorus tag finally comes in it feels totally unexpected. The vocal in this section also contrasts hugely with Diana's breathy verses.
The mic used was a Wunder CM7 GT through a GML 2032 mic amp. The Bvs were recorded using an AKG 414
